My car was making a funny grinding noise. I took it in, Clay and the other mechanic tried to duplicate it but couldn't. They noted that my struts needed replacing, so had that done and presto, no more noise. I take my car here because they don't add on unnecessary stuff and just fix what needs fixing. Recommend highly. Clay and all the folks here are awesome awesome awesome! My last repair shop left the brake fluid cover off my car. These guys had to replace most of my braking system, and were so thorough and careful about it, they were just great. Honest, thorough and kept me informed. Definitely will use them again. Thanks! The first time I went to Austin's Automotive Specialists was at the South Lamar flagship. I had an unbelievably positive experience. The level of professional workmanship combined with unparalleled 5 star customer service made me a customer for life. I was sad to see that shop go. However, Justin and Andy and the whole crew at the W. William Cannon store have demonstrated that this aspiration to excellence is not a one-off occurrence. I now have a new home-base store and will continue to rely upon AAS for all my repair needs, and will continue to recommend AAS with the highest confidence.

Thank you James, we are one of the Austin’s Small family owned businesses still in existence. No matter which location you visit we believe in one on one, face to face, personal service. We are here to serve our customers

I've been coming here for years for annual inspections. I never have to wait over and hour and the guys are great. When they stopped inspecting my RV, Ron directed me to another place in RR that specialize in large vehicles. Never an issue with them and friendly service. What more can you ask for? RUSSELL IS A LIFE SAVER! 10/10 would recommend this location of Austin's Automotive Specialistss. Here's my story: I was in a very sticky situation when I was on my way to Austin and the temperature in my engine got so hot that it shut my car off. Luckily, I was able to get to a gas station to assess the situation. I pulled over and opened my hood, checked to see what was going on as I has just recently had work done on my car from another shop.(Christian Brother's Automotive- DO NOT RECOMMEND) When I went to check my oil, there was plenty of oil in there but I noticed steam/smoke coming out of it. So I naturally went into panic "this is going to cost me a million dollars" mode. I thought about calling my insurance and having it towed, but we all know how, long that usually takes and the Saturday before Easter, everything closes early. I called the closest automotive shop(1 mile away) and got lucky when Russell Darnell (Manager) answered. I explained my situation to him and he very calmly and directly talked me off the ledge. He said it sounded to him like something was wrong with my coolant reservoir. He pulled up on his computer (while on the phone with me) what my engine looked like and explained to me what I was supposed to look for. With his instruction, I was able to very carefully find and look into the coolant reservoir to see that I had literally no coolant in there. (With my lack of knowledge of vehicles and being in complete panic mode, this is very impressive.) He instructed me to put water in the coolant reservoir which would be just enough to get me the mile down the road to his shop. As I poured water in, it came straight out the bottom. Initiate complete and total freak out mode. While on the phone we came to the conclusion that the hose had come disconnected from the car. He gave me step by step instructions on how to reconnect the hose and add enough water to the coolant reservoir in order to avoid having to get my car towed to his shop. He remained on the phone with me the entire time and made it very clear that he was going to help me in any way that he could. I slipped the hose back on and added 3 gallons of water. He instructed me to turn the heat all the way up and to make my way slowly and with my hazards on to his shop. They were supposed to close at 5:30pm, it was now 5:15pm. He and his shop stayed late for me and another client of theirs just to get us taken care of. The diagnosis ended up being that Christian Brother's Automotive did not attach my hose back correctly and had put the clamp in the wrong place resulting in the hose becoming disconnected, leaking coolant and almost frying my car. Russell and his team reconnected the coolant hose, filled it up with coolant, put the clamp in the right place and took my car for a test drive to diagnose any other issues. NO MORE ISSUES WERE FOUND. Russell was able to get me out of there, within 30 minutes with no charge and complete confidence in my car being functional ON THE SATURDAY EVENING BEFORE EASTER. It is truly a great thing when someone can turn a worse case scenario, into a best case scenario. I am thoroughly impressed with Russell and everyone I encountered at AAS. (And he was able to get me a great quote on tires, which I will be getting put on tomorrow) THANKS RUSSELL AND ALL THE GUYS OVER AT Austin's Automotive Specialists- BUDA Y'ALL ARE THE BEST!! Took my car here for what I was sure was some old brake pads or issues with the plate. I thought I was feeling grinding and vibration. They looked it all over, took the tires off, and reported it was all good. No charge. While I'm still not sure what I'm feeling, at least in that area I know I'm good. They certainly could have done a bunch of work and charged me and I would be none the wiser. I'll be coming back for sure.

After changed my tires, the staff in Discount Tires recommended me to do the alignment here. I scheduled service the next day, the price is fair and the service is nice and fast. I was a regular at the South Lamar Austin Automotive for years. My friend and mechanic recommended them to me as being fair and thorough. He was right and JT always took great care of us. I was bummed to lose them when moving to Leander.......and then, POOF, a new Austin Automotive opened up down the street from our new house and JT IS THE MANAGER having closed the South Lamar shop and moved up north, himself. WE ARE THRILLED! The universe works well for us, sometimes. Welcome to the neighborhood, Austin Automotive and JT!! Comment from Stephen M. of Austin's Automotive Specialistss Business Manager 4/6/2019Thank you Xiola! We are thrilled to be in Leander and even more so when we have great customers waiting for us.
