I can't say enough about my positive experience with Austin Automotive Specialists (especially Mike Riley)! I went to Austin Automotive with a brake light issue. In no time they were able to not only diagnose the issue, but also the cause of the issue (careful who's car you jump... seriously). Not only were all of the repairs completed within the day, but the price was extremely reasonable even after the replacement part turned out to be more expensive than we originally thought it would be. The staff is highly knowledgable, friendly, and fast. The service was excellent. I am highly appreciative of everyone at Austin Automotive for a great job. After my negative review posted, I got a call from the shop saying they'd cut the cost of the repair in half if I'd give them another shot, so I did. So far it's working well. I do wish it hadn't been such a struggle, but they ultimately did the right thing and that's always good. We've been good customers here for a few years with two cars. A couple weeks ago, I brought it in for A/C repair (replaced the condenser for over $500) and an oil change. I don't think they actually changed the oil even though I paid for it... The sticker on my windshield was never changed out. Several days later the A/C wasn't working again so I brought it back in since they said the work was under warranty. I brought it in at10:30am yesterday and they said they wouldn't even look at it because the particular mechanic who saw it last time wasn't in until the next day. How dumb is that? I don't have a relationship with a particular mechanic... Why on Earth wouldn't they just have any of the other mechanics look? The next day they quoted me an additional $1067 because evidently the compressor is bad. Why they wouldn't notice this the last time is beyond me since we had only driven the car a few miles after we had the initial fix done (we went on vacation with a different car for over a week). The only warranty they gave was $200 for evac and recharge. Weak. Got a quote from another shop in town and they quoted me $300 less (and that included the evac and recharge of the system... So really $500 less). Really disappointed. Won't be taking our cars here again. Read more It's such a relief to find an auto shop that you can trust. I've taken my car here a couple of times. If they feel you don't need something fixed, they tell you as much. They're understanding, patient and professional. They also do good work. I highly recommend them. Read more

I've been here twice and have had a great experience both times. I got my oil changed the first time and, since it was a good experience, I went back for my inspection. Both times they treated me with respect and didn't try to sell me things I don't need, and on top of that the service was VERY quick. They have a little lobby and free wifi to stay busy while waiting, although it only took about 10 minutes! These are my go-to guys; love 'em! They have done major work, always with great prices & quick turnaround. They have referred me to local places when needed (EG tires) & answered dummy question phone calls. Most importantly, they are HONEST! Thanks guys 😁

While I hated, hated, hated having to spend the large chunk of money I had to spend to get a used transmission in my truck-- these guys were awesome, truly. They had my truck about 3 weeks, while I 1- took time to decide WHAT Im going to do, 2- finding me a transmission that had the lowest miles on in for used, and 3- excellent customer service. They looked over my whole car to make sure it was "worth" replacing the tranny, and the assured me my engine was solid, however had a few minor things that needed fixing. Both items I already knew, so I knew these guys were far from scamming me. 3 weeks later and I drove away stoked to have my "newer" truck back!! She was dirty, lol, but she has a 50k tranny, a new radiator, an oil change and shes up and running. I barely made it TO them the day I dropped it off. They keep you in the loop, they are good on their timelines, and they sure as hell tried to find me the best prices for parts. This is my go to shop, no doubt!! I went in on Saturday the 4th of June and was lied to Mike Told me i needed new brakes and rotors he wants to charge me 800.00 dollars mine you i had just got them done not even 9 months ago. i paid the 70.00 and it was all a lie i have my brakes and rotors in the back of my truck there are still like new waiting for a manager above mike to call me back since Monday morning nothing in response I want them to explain to me whats wrong when there are still new. i paid 70.00 for the company to lie to me really and that's cause i used them before but it was Eddie and he was so sweet and fixed my ac last year with no issue. I guess because i was a female you could take advantage no you get less than a ZERO.

Hello Jenny, Mike recommended replacement of your rotors due to the their overall condition and run-out. reusing the rotors in the condition they are in would result in additional braking issues. We recommend proper repairs not patch jobs that in the long run would give us a reputation of doing poor quality work. As far as taking advantage of a female, that is offensive and a cliché. I give women more credit than that.
