Came here to get a quote on fixing my right lower control arm because of an minor accident on the tollway. I was quoted nearly $1,100 for the repair and 8 hours of labor so my friend and I left (Keep in mind, I'm not a car fanatic or enthusiast, I can easily be taken advantage of) My online friend who is a car fanatic said it shouldn't take $1,100 to fix, Austin's is definitely overcharging you. I went to another autoshop and they quoted me only $400 for the repair. It makes me wonder how many people they've tried to take advantage of. Do better.
Hi James. Thank you for the feedback and we appreciate where you are coming from. Not sure what work you had done but we hope it did the trick. Our quote was based on the standard industry-wide labor guide that most shops use. In reality, we dropped the labor cost in half from what the guide stated we should charge and discounted the control arm price as well to help as best we could. I do hope you know we don't practice taking advantage of our customers. We've been in business for 40+ years by being honest, transparent and customer-centric in our approach. Again, sorry we couldn't help you here. The most important thing is that the problem was taken care of correctly and your vehicle is safe. Thanks again.
