The repair men were very nice & didn't charge me for my oil change since Ray had given my boyfriend one about 2 months before & something about spilt oil but he kept his word & was very courteous. They fixed my cars issue & I'll be going back for my next oil change & a new catalytic converter that I need replaced. It did take longer than I expected but my experience was well worth it. Thanks guys!

Adam, James, and other staff members of Automotive Specialists (formerly Brake Specialists), are the best. I brought my husband's truck in, after hearing a terrible rattle in one wheel. I was prepared for the worst. But, after a free inspection, they determined it was simply a broken piece inside the center cap on the wheel. Purely cosmetic. They didn't charge a cent, even after a very thorough inspection. And Adam even suggested the most economical way for us to replace the center cap. Automotive Specialists came highly recommended to us by my mother who has been coming to them since they opened many years ago. Anyone who treats my mother well, fixes her problems, and doesn't overcharge her, is okay in my book. Very good staff with even better ethics. I'm glad they only experienced a name change recently; it's the same quality company, manager and employees.

It's so very rare to actually find an automotive repair or service shop these days that doesn't make you want to pull your hair out afterwards. I've used this place twice since moving back to Texas. I had my brakes changed out here and they quoted a fair price and that's what I ended up paying. NO hidden costs. The second, and most recent, time was after my wife's car broke. I was fairly sure she had a blown turbo, but due to my disabilities I'm unable to work with my hands long enough to effect a repair this intense. I had called the dealership and got a run around quote that ended up being 30 plus percent more than I paid. They did an excellent job of keeping us informed during the job and actually ended up coming in $200 under the initial quote! They also gave me a 10% military discount both times!!

Absolutely recommend this place! been coming here some before the name change. Clay Homann has always been great and straight with me on repairs, which is very helpful given our economy and that I'm a teacher. Thanks Austin's Automotive Specialist! What you would want and expect from a Auto Shop. No messing around. Get you exactly what you need at a competitive price. Clay is a solid guy! He will take care of you. No need shopping around!

Andy was by far the most helpful person when ever dealing with brake repair! If you are nervous about finding the right mechanic I can truly say that you should not be looking any further. I moved here from Iowa where I had my own small town mechanic so I was hesitant finding one in the big city that doesn't try to rip you off. I will definitely be taking all my vehicles back to Andy and his crew! Nothing but positive feedback!

These guys are awesome. Mike is so friendly, and the mechanics are very honest. They aren't trying to rip you off, they are good business people. To be fair, I haven't really had much work done....but I had to get my tired rotated at discount tire and it turned out that a bunch of my lug nuts and bolts had seized up, so Automotive specialist fixed it up and cleaned the old ones that didn't need replacing for free. The next day I thought my suspension got screwed up somehow (it's an old car so being lifted in the air can be troublesome for the struts) so I took it in to get checked out--they said no problems, topped off the fluids, and still didn't charge me anything. Would definitely go again, and would recommend to anyone.

Now named Austins Automotive Specialists. Could not be in better hands! I tried this place after being new to the area. Rick Runnels, with Excel Inspections recommended them and I have used them several times. Patrick is the manager and he and his team are professional, thorough and reasonably priced. They have never tried to push me into a service I did not need or talk to me as if I cannot understand what they are talking about. They have helped me out in several emergencies at no charge. My total GO TO Place!

Clay and team were super helpful and friendly. They got me slotted in right away for a state inspection and oil change. They found a couple of things they thought needed doing, including a wheel alignment. I approved this work and they started with the alignment - midway through they found the wheels were just fine and I needed a tire rotation instead (at 1/4 the price!). Clay could have charged me for both as they'd already done a bunch of work, but he's as honest as they come and by only doing the work the car really needed has guaranteed I'll be back. Thanks guys!

I've been using these guys since 2004. This latest visit Andy Walker took good care of me! I needed brakes and a fix for the check engine light. Back in the 90's I did all my own repairs. My dad was a mechanic and he never trusted other mechanics so I grew up with real trust issues when it comes automotive repair. Austin's Automotive Specialistss (formally Brake Specialists Plus) have exceeded my expectations for over 10 years. One time their mechanic David actually spoke with a dealer regarding a used vehicle I was considering buying, and after he got all the details he advised me NOT to purchase. Probably saved me thousands of dollars! Being in sales, I've referred many of my clients to these guys and they never disappoint. Highly recommend!
