I've been bringing my cars here for 10 years for oil changes and inspections and in all that time I haven't had a single negative experience. They always check my fluids, brakes, tires, and belts for free and have caught things for me before they became big issues. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend this place to everyone.

When I moved to Austin 2 years ago, I needed car maintenance right away. I went to 2 different repair shops before stumbling on Automotive Specialists. Since finding them, I've only ever gone here for all my maintenance and repair needs. Everyone is friendly and willing to answer ah questions that I might have. One of the best things about this place is that I've never been pressured to purchases additional services. Lots of times I would need something as simple as an oil change and the mechanics will then try to pitch a huge package of repairs and that has NEVER happened here. If they notice anything out of the ordinary, they have mentioned it and then moved on. Great guys, quick service and competitive prices!! Highly recommend them to anyone!

Went for an oil change, i saw the "classic" style look they have for the place and assumed good classic service. I have an older car that the oil filter has been moved to an easily accessible location but isn't the normal filter for stock. I went to tell the gentleman(a buff clean cut looking guy) that it wasn't the normal ones hat computers usually pick first(tho you can still pick it up at any autoparts store) and he just tells me they don't have it. How does he know they don't have it when he doesn't even know what filter I have? I ask him this because at this point he started to get short with me, like a waiter who is still being nice, but you can tell hates you. I even offered to go grab it for him or show it to him because it's literally in the top corner of the engine compartment, with about 4 inch's free space all around. He declines and just tells me if I want I can go buy the filter and oil and they can charge me labor. Isn't that the point of risking letting someone else do the job? So you aren't driving around all over the place? So needless to say I didn't decide to proceed further, God knows what they really would have done with my car. Maybe that guy was having a bad day, we all have them, but I am not going back to any of their stores.

Todd the MANAGER is very rude to women. He over looked me took someone ahead of me. He never asked me to wait or say I will be right with you. He is absolutely rude. All I wanted was to have my car inspected and he looked up and me and says u sound impatient how can I help u. Really why would a company want someone like this working for them. Customer service is not that hard.

On 6/5/15, I went to this chain's location on South Lamar Blvd. Super service for brake and rotar check by David! Quick and honest assessment of what my Lexus RX350 needed/didn't needed. And free refill of windshield wiper fluid. Highly recommend.

We have been going to Brake Specialists in Buda for over 2 years now and we will continue to go back to Tom and his staff because of their great customer service and outstanding quality work on our vehicles. As a former Marine, Tom is a Veteran and we need to support our Veterans!!!

I am slowly restoring my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport and have been using these guys for all repairs. Fair pricing and good service make them tops in my book!! Will continue to use their services for both of my cars. Tom is also great!!

I was traveling through the area on a book signing tour, and my vehicle's brakes decided to take a powder. I had important appointments scheduled in another city for the next day. Patrick and his crew provided excellent and timely customer service. Their maintenance was top notch and exceeded my expectations. I will recommend them to my friends.

I have had a bit of bad luck over the last 4 weeks with both vehicles, a '97 Cadillac Seville and '03 Chevy Tahoe Z71, call it Murphy's law! Darin and the team have totally impressed me with their expedient service, knowledge and explanation of the repairs and cost! I have the team on speed dial and they have become my go to mechanics. After I read the negative reviews on here and also after I received awesome service at this location it's clear that the people that wrote negative reviews did NOT do their research on prices or they do NOT understand the safety regulations that this business follows. I took my SUV in for service because it was overheating. I did my research online so that I had knowledge of what the problem could be. After they told me what the issue was (water pump) they told me it would cost $423 for the diagnostics, parts and labor. I then did my research and found that is pretty much the best price in town for this job. For people that are getting inspections, if you're complaining that they are failing your vehicle because of issues and then you take it to some backyard neighbor mechanic and they say there is nothing wrong with your vehicle...I guess we'll all be waiting in traffic on I-35 because your car broke down on the highway
