Auto repairs are a single Woman's nightmare....But, I I have to share with you that in Austin, we are blessed. We have excellent car specialists that you can trust. One in particular that I need to tell you about Forrest @ Austin Automotive Specialists in Austin off of Research Blvd. I am on the road a lot with work and my auto is my heart and Forrest gave me confidence that he could take care of the routine maintenance review and he assured me if he found anything else that needed repair, he would advise me on what to do, and how to handle it going forward. I had to replace two tires I discount tire. After the tire replacement my steering was not the same. discount tire wanted to rule out an alignment needed and sent me to Austin automotive specialists. If it was not an alignment they would replace with different tires. I was greeted by JT Matteson. after explaining what my car was doing before having tires put on and then after he was sure it was not an alignment that was needed that it had to be something within my tires. why the technicians checked my car JT was so informative and educated me on basic information everyone should know. From fuel levels to how rotating tires is so important and why you should rotate them. And so much more information. I my recently deceased husband always took care of our vehicles I know nothing about a vehicle repairs or even maintenance other than an oil change. JT educated me invaluable information that will help me in the future with my car. Although my car was a little out of alignment they found the reason for my steering problem. There was an air bubble in one of the other tires not the new ones. I had to go back to discount tire and purchased two more tires as I don't buy one tire at a time. Normally we always purchased all four tires at the same time. However with the current circumstances in my life I was just buying some time to get the other two replaced..but had I not gone to Austin automotive specialists I could have very well had a blowout due to the air bubble separating my belts in my tire. I now have a new auto shops take my car to that I can trust and know I'm in good hands. Thank you JT and all the mechanics who took care of my car that day. I am truly grateful and much more educated about my vehicle.. great quality service and trustworthy. Outstanding service, top notch staff and management, highly competent tech service providers

My girlfriend had her call transferred to this repair shop when she was calling about a pre-purchase inspection while car shopping. She spoke to J.T. about looking at a possible Chevy Cruze. Immediately he strongly suggests against getting a Cruze, or she would be in for a world of headaches. With his expertise, J.T. then gave us a list of other, much more reliable cars to check out as we went car shopping. So helpful! We ended up bringing him a 2014 Kia Soul. The man we met at the counter (I forget his name) confirmed that Chevy Cruze's are best avoided, saying that they are "Bad for you-- but good for us," in that they need lots of repairs. He seemed like a great guy, too. J.T. then took a look at the car we hadn't yet purchased, gave us an enthusiastic "All good!" and gave us a 10%-off discount that he never even told us about until I looked at our itemized receipt! I want to strongly impress upon the person reading this review that I would trade the last ten mechanics who've worked on my car for someone with the integrity and good-nature of J.T. at the repair shop in Leander. He's one of those "I know a guy" mechanics you want to know for life, and I'm taking my car (and my girlfriend's car) to him whenever we have to. I cannot recommend him enough.
