I had a great experience here, after being told I need at least 800 a in repairs from another shop nearby I took it to them for a second opinion. I'm glad I did turns out it was an easier fix than I had been previously lead to believe. they had me in and out in just over an hour and for almost half the price. I went in for an oil change and to fix the alignment of my Elantra. The total waiting time was about an hour. The service was friendly and efficient in my opinion. They took $10 off my fully synthetic oil change when I brought in their online coupon so I think $50 for an oil change is a very competitive price. The alignment was $80 so also a fair price. No hidden fees or trying to oversell me things I didn't need. I like that they print the type of oil used on the sticker for those of us that forget those kinds of things! The only thing that bugged me was that they were doing some pretty loud interior construction doing business hours, not the biggest deal though. Waiting room has free wi-fi that was pretty speedy! Brake Specialist just reconfirmed their 5 stars. I had taken my car in for new brakes and shortly after my steering wheel started to shake. I thought the tires might have been placed on wrong or something so I brought it back in. My manual transmission was also sticking so I asked if they could check that out too. In under an hour my car was returned to me with a recommendation of where to go to get my transmission checked and told that the shaking was due to bad tires and was given a recommendation of where to get those. Total price: $0. In theory I guess they aren't TOTAL car care since they can't do everything in house but what they can't do they give great recommendations for. These guys really look out for you and your car. I have been taking my geriatric car here since I have moved to Austin. Granted, I don't know much about cars but I have never felt like they were trying to pull one over on me. They are straight up about if I REALLY need it, if it is recommended, or if it is something to consider in the future. Good folks here. Adam and Dave have always been honest with me. I have taken three cars here over the years and they have always been awesome. Last time I was told I needed new brakes by Lambs and these guys said I had halfway left on them, free of charge. This is a good place to go around the Lakeway area.

Took my car over to Brake Specialist in Buda today and without an appointment they had car out in no time. Tom and the guys did a really great job and the repairs were affordable. Will be taking my car to them in the future.

My search for a reasonable, trust worthy, and professional place to take my truck to for repairs, is OVER. I have an older truck, '96 Silverado, that's now over 270,000 miles and still purring. The customer service is the best I've come across EVER as far as car repairs go. Patrick and the mechanics there are top notch and if you are having trouble figuring out what a problem is, this is the place to go! And go to them FIRST, otherwise you'll spend a couple grand fixing and replacing parts you may not have to from other places taking advantage. If you're female, please note that these guys will NOT take advantage of that fact. I can not express enough how much I recommend these guys. I'll not take my vehicle anywhere else again!

Just stopped in this morning to get a brake job done, expecting the worse but ended up getting some of the best service I have ever had dealing with the automotive industry, that being said Patrick was more than helpful and willing to work with me on various facets of repairs and costs. I would highly recommend this rare find to anyone weary of finding a reputable brake repair shop. Will for sure be a return customer.
