Took in the car after the car wouldn't start suddenly. They diagnosed it as "just the battery died". They replaced it, and we took it home happy to see it wasn't a bigger issue. The next day it wouldn't start AGAIN. They explained, that they would cover the costs if they had made a mistake. Turns out the battery wasn't grounded properly, and they claimed that it "was not their fault" because they would "have had to taken more time to see the problem last time" so they charged us for the Tow, A WHOLE NEW BATTERY, and Service once again for whatever they claim was causing the grounding issue. So it's not their fault they "assumed" the problem was just a dead battery, because we didn't ask them specifically to do a "deeper investigation" let alone they wouldn't show us or explain what "previous car damage" caused the grounding issue since whatever it was, was there the whole time and they admitted that. Why go to a mechanic if they're not going to find the REAL problem? If i just wanted to change out the battery, I would have done it myself!
Anya, we charge for diagnostic time. If a customer does not want to pay for it we don't do it. If there is no sign of a larger issue we do not ask the customer to pay for diagnosis.
