Edit: The response below is a complete fabrication. AAS was the first and only place we brought the vehicle. They diagnosed the issue after we dropped it off. Once they sent the quote I google searched the issue and discovered it was under warranty per the conditions above. My wife called to verify the mileage and told them to proceed with the repair once they confirmed the mileage was over 100k and not applicable for warranty. Per my previous comment, I never spoke to anyone regarding the issue, my wife handled all of the communication with AAS. We did not take it to a dealership or anywhere else for any other quotes. The warranty even notes that this is not a safety issue - why would I be concerned about my wife driving a car she barely uses that doesn’t have a safety issue? It’s one thing to mislead us about the mileage and warranty status. If it was a mistake own up to it and move on. But to fabricate a story about warranty agreements and wait times and conversations that were never had is disturbing. —- My wife dropped our sonata off to get a quote on a steering problem. They said the star gear needed to be replaced. I found that the replacement is covered by Hyundais warranty up to 100k miles. I knew we were close to 100k but couldn’t remember if it ticked over or not yet. My wife called the Austin Automotive Specialists to confirm the mileage and they confirmed it was over 100k and that we wouldn’t be eligible for warranty service. When I picked up the car after the service was done and paid for, the odometer reads 96k miles. Their dishonesty cost us $400.
Nick your review is false and misleading. We were the ones who informed you that your car was under warranty. You took it to the dealership and was told it would be 2-3 weeks to repair because of there backlog. You brought it to us saying you did not want your wife to drive a car in that condition, for us to fix it and you would deal with the warranty people on your own. Apparently you are not receiving any satisfaction from the warranty people and want to point your finger at someone. Shame on you.
