I tried to get my 30 year old truck inspected here. Before the inspection they told me they couldn't do the inspection because their emissions testing machine was down. I had to explain to the guy at the front desk and the mechanic that vehicles under two years or over twenty four are exempt from emissions tests and only require a safety inspection. Finally they do the inspection and tell me my truck failed because of emissions. when I argued they said it didn't matter because my left turn signal didn't work (it does and always has). The only positive is that they didn't charge me for the failed inspection. I immediately took the truck to another nearby shop and it passed no problem. I have taken vehicles to the 1800 S Interstate 35 location in Round Rock and they are phenomenal but I would not recommend this location to anyone.

I'm sorry for the trouble you had last year with this shop.

I brought my 2017 Jeep Renegade in for an oil change. Tom and his team are very professional. During checkout the technician told me about an issue they detected and let me know thst I should take it to the dealer to have it checked out. Turned out I needed a full axle replacement....it was covered under warranty....but I wouldn't have known until it was too late had it not been for the amazing team at Austin Automotive Specialists! I recently visited this location to get an issue with my AC fixed. Turned out there was a leak in my evaporator coil. Which is annoying because the cost of labor is about three times that of the parts. While I understand the effort it takes to remove a dash I was disappointed that when I picked up my car and no one felt it was necessary to tell me about that cosmetic damage that was sustained by my dash during the process. No one has offered or attempted to fix the damage. It was also not mentioned as something that would happen when I dropped my car off. According to some digging and quotes from other shops Austin Automotives price for this fix was slightly higher than the average quote. With that I would expect better than average customer service, which I did not receive in any of the 5 visits I made to the shop during this process. While my AC is fixed, I will not be returning to this shop.

I'm sorry you were not warned ahead of time about the possibility of dash issues. The blazing Texas sun wreaks havoc on plastic. I know it's frustrating the cost of auto repair nowadays. especially the time it takes to disassemble and reassemble adds up to big labor.

We took our van into them because it kept stalling out on us. From the get go everyone I dealt with was friendly and took time to explain my options for repair, but the thing that really sealed the deal for me- the thing that has ensured them my repeat business for years to come- is when Clay explained to me that while they could do XYZ and while it was maintenance that essentially needs to happen he thought my issue was a much more complex fix and that they best option was for me to take it into the dealership. Yes you heard me right- they have my repeat business because they sent me to the dealership- as it turns out, Clay was completely right and it was a much deeper issue. It was my power train module AND it is covered by the dealership warranty (for only another 1000 miles). This move saved my family potentially $2000 dollars! We have had other services preformed by them and were very happy but the fact that they are honest and not just looking to get money out of me is why I will trust them with all our family vehicles from here on out! I cannot say enough good things about the team there! Go see them! Comment from Stephen M. of Austin's Automotive Specialistss Business Manager 8/4/2017Thank you Kayla. Read more

Called in to make an appointment. Someone named mike answered. He was rude and sounded annoyed that i was wanting an appointment instead of dropping it off anytime and picking it up when he can get to it. Sounded like mike did not want my business. Guess austin automotive isn't into making money. Update** 20 minutes later im sitting in AAMCO Total Car Care which is about 2-3 blocks down the street. You want customer service this is the place: AAMCO 1901 S. Interstate 35 Round Rock Texas 78664 talk to West.

I'm sorry Sharla I will look into it.
