Unfortunately, my experience with “Austin Automotive Specialists” was not a good one. I needed to have Fog Light bulbs replaced on my 2008 Dodge Charger and contacted the repair shop on 4/16/20. I called that morning and was told this was pretty routine and the price started at $25.00 dollars (Including parts and labor) but should not be much more, no appointment was necessary and should just take a few minutes, just walk right in. This was perfect for me so I left work and came on my 1 hour lunch break. I arrived, gave my keys to the technician and returned in 10 minutes. I observed my car on a lift were it remained for 45 minutes with no technician. Finally, a pick-up truck arrived and was informed by the front desk technician the light bulbs had arrived. (I was never told they were not in stock) Installation took 5-10 minutes. I was now (not pre-service) informed the bill for parts ($44.90(2 bulbs)) and labor ($76.99) brought the grand total to $132.85! In addition, I was told they were doing me a favor because the price should be $189.85!! (I was shocked but I paid!) Once arriving back at work, I called and told the technician I was not pleased with the price I was charged and he said “Oh well, at lease your Fog Lights work now!” Finally, next day, I paid a visit to AutoZone where the bulbs cost $16.88 for 2, slid under my car (easy access) and proceeded the simulation of changing the bulbs myself. It took 10 minutes. Expense Lesson!
I am sorry you are unhappy with your visit. Our guys went by the labor book time and part mark up used by dealerships we should have had more consideration.
