Came in for an inspection for my vehicle, figured why not get an oil change. Guy asks me whether I do 3 or 5000 miles every change so I tell him, then without providing options decides For me I’m getting an $80 synthetic oil change, pretty pricey when Walmart charges $52 for theirs, no oil options, nothing. I go with it just because I really want to get the inspection over with. They come back 15 minutes later saying my right headlight bulb is out and that it won’t pass, and something about my serpentine belt not being 100% but that “technically” it will pass, as I’d they were just looking for things to fail. I ask them to just replace the bulb, they say it’s $80 for installation because it’s in a “hard to reach place.” I’ve replaced that bulb before, so I told them that was outrageous, paid for my oil change and left. I went home and replaced the bulb on my own, I timed it, took me less than 2 minutes and didn’t require me to remove anything major, just pulled back the weather flap by the tire and turned the cover off. Bulb cost me 11 bucks. All in all I felt like I was being taken for a ride here. Never again.

I’ve brought cars to Andy at this shop for over 10 years. They are polite and prices are fair. Leave your car with them. They are competent and you won’t get ripped off.

I've always had a good experience at Austin Automotive Specialists. I had brought my car in previously for an issue with the ABS system. Their initial fix did not solve the issue, but when I brought my car in again, they were able to diagnose the issue and fixed it free of charge.
