I had my car towed to Austin‘s automotive as it was shuddering and feeling like it was about to stall. I called the next day as my car was delivered after-hours, and they did not have time to look at it. I called the following day and they sent me an estimate in the afternoon. To begin with, they charged $159 for the diagnostic evaluation. Going rate for diagnostic evaluations in my area at other auto shops is $99. In addition, they were not going to apply the cost of the evaluation to the work that needed to be done. The norm is that diagnostic fees are applied against the total cost of the service performed. They determined that my car needed ignition coils and spark plugs. I have a 2010 Nissan Altima four-cylinder. They wanted $922 to do that repair. In addition, they cited that my oil needed to be changed and my engine flushed. I had literally had that service performed, only 2000 miles ago. My oil was neither dirty nor needing to be changed. However, they wanted to charge me close to $200 for that service. My air filter did indeed need to be changed and they wanted $39 for that service. In Total, they were asking for over $1400 for service to my vehicle. Now I may be a woman with little knowledge of cars , but I know when I am being ripped off. I had my car taken over to Three Points Automotive and they charged me a total of only $627 Parts and labor, including the air filter. Beware of these scammers!! That is unless you like paying for services you don’t need and being charged ridiculously high prices.

Great service and dedicated staff with honest advice. Can not say enough great things about them. I have a 20 yr old Highlander that is always being updated. So I know.

I have used Austin’s Automotive Specialist in Hutto for over a year now and have found their team to be friendly, knowledgeable and the prices to be generally reasonable. I plan to continue to take my vehicles here for the foreseeable future and would definitely recommend them to others in the area.

I was not called once. These people will take advantage of you if you are not educated on what’s wrong with your vehicle. They upcharge like crazy , so unless you’re not worried about that , then go for it! The reception nava is very rude. I told him i’ll be going to someone else , and when i asked what was wrong with the car he just laughed and smilled condescendingly and said nothing. The guy that had done the inspection was luckily at the front and he did describe a bit what was wrong with my car , i didn’t get his name but he definitely deserve some recognition. Other then that gentleman, from the people i met , were rude, only care about the money aspect, and have no kind of compassion, integrity or ethics. I paid $165 for something that autozone could have told me. I recommend any other place!

Love this shop. Quality work and straight shooters, friendly and helpful. Been taking vehicles there for awhile when the repair goes beyond what I can do in my home garage.

I’ve had 2 oil changes and a brake job done here, and every time was amazing. Friendly staff, fast/efficient service, and a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

I would put 10 star 🌟if I could.this place went beyond the service they offer,they made me feel blessed and realized that even in the middle of the road when my car left me ,they were there in the corner to help fix my car and the guy told me that I already got a lot on my plate that I shouldn't pay🫢 and the all team were very nice too.I was able to get to my destination since I was on my way to work.that made me think that even in the middle of trouble there still God's goodness around.Thank you so much for that great service and kindness 🙌!

Great experience this morning w Joe @ Austin Automotive! Just routine maintenance (oil change / tire rotation & inspection) - but Joe’s service made the ordeal a great experience!
