I've always had a great experience at Austin's Automotive Specialists. This time around was just as impressive. I had antifreeze leaking from my truck, it looked like it was coming from the water pump but I didn't have the time to look at it myself. I took it to AAS and they found the leak coming from the intake manifold and the water pump. The intake manifold leak was affecting the performance of the engine and corroding other components as well. They were able to replace the intake manifold, water pump and other components in one day and get it back to me in great, and better performing, condition. I can't thank them enough for their hard work and great timing with fixing my truck. I will continue to take my vehicles to AAS.

I requested an appointment to have a part in my steering wheel replaced for the next day at 8:30 AM. My appointment was accepted the same day. So the next morning I go to Austin Automotive Specialists on W Parmer Ln. at around 7:40 AM to drop off my vehicle. I already visited a different Austin Automotive Specialists location off Research Blvd. so I had an idea of how long of a job it was and the price, but the Parmer location was closer to work. When I got to the Parmer location they quoted me almost twice as long and I wouldn't accept that given what the Research location told me (shouldn't a chain of businesses have the same/closely similar rates?). The associate honored what I was told at the other location. They asked me if I was planning to wait and I said no. As I waited for my ride I overheard them offer a shuttle to another customer. A service I well could have taken advantage of IF I had been offered. I continued to wait for my ride and by the time I left my car was pulled into their shop. At almost 1 PM I received a call informing me that a panel under my dash may be damaged during the process (This told me that they had really just began the work, because removing the panel is one of the first steps of taking apart a steering column. Also I had given them the part they needed to replace.) By around 2 PM I was done with work and needed to pick up my car because I had things to do. I called them and they told me the vehicle would be ready by 5 PM. I do not understand how a 2 hour job (originally quoted me 3.5 hour job) turned into a 9 hour job with an appointment. Granted I was never quoted a time it would be completed, but I went off of what I paid for for the labor. Thinking it would be done 4 PM at the very latest (taking into account lunch, having other customers, and available mechanics, and all the work that goes into taking apart a steering column). I don't believe that this location treats customers fairly based off the lack of across the board hospitality and lack of speedy communication. Having your vehicle in first thing with an appointment doesn't seem to make any difference on how soon they will get it back to you. So just keep that in mind when getting a big job done on your vehicle.

I wish I could give them 100 stars these guys are amazing they really go above and beyond what they are required to do they are very trustworthy reasonably priced my car wouldn't start for what ever reason I got it started took it to them they tested it couldn't find anything wrong asked to keep it an extra day just to make sure it would start everything checked out just fine I didn't get charged for it now what mechanic shop do you know would that, I'll Wait....None, most would say they found a problem and charge an arm and 2 legs for it. Thanks Austin's Automotive Specialist you are my mechanic shop for life.
